INTRODUCTION
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Columbia, MO.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
- Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
- Basic Diesel Engine experience.
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Salary rate commensurate with experience. EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS
- Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Current relevant electrical certification
- Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
- Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
- This role will require a CDL Drivers License at time of hire or within 6 months on filling the role
Our business hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM M-F. This FSPG role hours may flex depending on customer needs. This role will also require tech to be on call once we have trained and feel comfortable with skill level.
DOT
- A current valid CDL is required for this role.
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
