Training Specialist Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a training specialist job in Chicago?
Focus your search on the Loop and River North, where financial services firms, consulting practices, and corporate headquarters run active learning and development functions, and on the North Shore and Lincolnshire corridor for manufacturing and professional services employers. Healthcare systems throughout the city also hire heavily for training roles. Candidates who show experience with adult learning design, LMS administration, or compliance training tend to stand out in Chicago's employer-driven market.
Which companies hire training specialists in Chicago?
Employers hiring training specialists in Chicago right now include SpotOn, Wendy's, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of major hospital networks, Fortune 500 corporate offices, and financial institutions creates a wide range of employer types actively staffing training roles.
Are there remote training specialist jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: positions focused on instructional design, e-learning development, or LMS management are more remote-friendly than hands-on facilitation or manufacturing floor training. About 67% of training specialist openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among Loop-based corporate employers. On-site delivery roles at healthcare systems and industrial employers in the metro area remain largely in-person.
How can I get a training specialist job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through a training coordinator or instructional assistant role at a large hospital network, retail corporate office, or staffing firm, where you build facilitation and curriculum support skills before moving into a specialist title. Employers in Chicagoland's manufacturing corridor and healthcare systems like those in the Illinois Medical District often hire entry-level trainers for onboarding and compliance programs. A background in education, HR, or even customer-facing service work translates well when paired with any LMS or e-learning tool experience.

Most training specialist openings in Chicago sit in Education, Technology & Software, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a hub for financial services headquarters, major hospital systems, and a strong manufacturing base creates consistent demand for training professionals who can support compliance, onboarding, and workforce development programs at scale.
