INTRODUCTION
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking outstanding applicants for a clinical track adult psychiatry faculty position with clinician-educator interests. The successful candidates' clinical focus will be aligned with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including, but not limited to board specialization in general adult psychiatry.
This position offers a variety of clinical care settings. In addition to having an individual caseload of patients, the successful candidate may work in a team-based model of outpatient care and may have the opportunity to work in a collaborative care model.
The successful candidate will supervise residents and medical students and may provide direct supervision in resident clinic. The position includes supervising residents taking call for the UW and VA Medical Center hospitals as well as sharing holiday call for the UW psychiatric units. The position includes protected time for academic interests and department-wide educational activities, and fellows.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key job responsibilities:
- Teach medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
- Provide psychiatric care for a variety of pediatric and/or adult patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry by start date of position.
- WI Medical license by start date of position.
- Board-certified or board eligible in Adult Psychiatry by start date of position.
- Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT track.
Education
- MD or DO, or equivalent is required.
COMPENSATION
Negotiable, 12 month

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%
- This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
- This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
- Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
- This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with JR10011378 Adult Psychiatry (Clinical Health Sciences Track); please note that only one vacancy exists. Having two job postings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates with both tenure-track faculty credentials and non-tenure-track faculty credentials for this position.
