Executive Assistant Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a executive assistant in Wisconsin?
Most employers in Wisconsin expect candidates to have a minimum of an associate degree in business administration or office management, though a bachelor's degree is increasingly preferred for C-suite roles. No state-issued license is required to work as an executive assistant in Wisconsin. Building experience through administrative coordinator or office assistant roles at Wisconsin healthcare systems, universities, or financial firms is the most reliable path to moving into executive-level support positions.
How much do executive assistants make in Wisconsin?
Executive assistants in Wisconsin earn a median of about $68,920 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,250 for the lowest 10% to over $93,190 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire executive assistants in Wisconsin?
Companies currently hiring executive assistants in Wisconsin include Aspirus Health, Target, and Froedtert & MCW, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of insurance and financial services headquarters in Milwaukee, along with major healthcare IT and university employers in Madison, ensures consistent demand throughout the year.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most executive assistant jobs?
Milwaukee, Madison, and Menomonee Falls lead Wisconsin for executive assistant openings. Milwaukee drives the largest share of postings because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters in financial services, insurance, and manufacturing, while Madison's volume reflects the University of Wisconsin System, state government agencies, and the healthcare technology sector anchored by employers like Epic Systems.
Are there remote executive assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely digital roles, since executive assistants frequently handle in-person logistics, physical mail, and on-site meeting support. About 27% of executive assistant openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements more prevalent than fully remote. The functions most likely to go remote are calendar management, travel coordination, and correspondence drafting.
How can I get hired as a executive assistant in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an administrative assistant or receptionist role at a large Wisconsin institution and moving up. Healthcare systems like Froedtert Health and UW Health, along with the University of Wisconsin campuses, regularly hire entry-level administrative staff and promote from within. Building proficiency in Microsoft Office, earning a Certified Administrative Professional credential, and demonstrating initiative in calendar or project coordination tasks gives candidates a clear edge over others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to executive assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to executive assistant jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and target employers, and apply directly to the ones that fit your goals.
