Who We Are
Arrive Logistics is a leading transportation and technology company in North America with plans to grow significantly year over year. Our success is a testament to our remarkable team and what we’re building together. We’re committed to providing employees with a meaningful work experience and have established an award-winning culture that supports personal and career development in a fun, casual, and collaborative environment.
Who We Want
Arrive Logistics is looking for a mid-level Product Designer to join our product design team. You’ll work on our proprietary transportation management platform, the software our reps and operations teams use to move freight every day. Our users live in this tool for eight hours a day under real time pressure. Screens are dense, workflows are complex, and a confusing state costs real money, both for our business and the user. The design problems here are about speed to completion, information hierarchy in high-density interfaces, and reducing friction from tasks people repeat thousands of times a week.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to and own designs for features and flows within your sprint team’s area, from early framing through shipped UI
- Partner closely with your product manager and engineers to define requirements, explore solutions, and rapidly iterate based on feedback
- Leverage problem discovery and user research to help sharpen problems before jumping to solutions
- Spend real time with our users, who are onsite, generous with their opinions, and turn what you learn into design decisions you can act on and share
- Conduct and synthesize lightweight research (interviews, usability tests, feedback sessions, problem discovery)
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups in Figma, Miro and similar tools
- Contribute components and patterns to our design system and keep your work consistent with it
- Present work and rationale clearly to your team and to the stakeholders
- Take part in critique with the wider design team, both giving and receiving
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a product or UX designer, ideally on a B2B or SaaS product
- A portfolio that shows how you think, not just final screens. We want to see the options you considered and why you landed where you did
- Strong Figma skills
- Comfort working within an established design system and contributing back to it
- Solid interaction design and usability fundamentals, especially in data-dense or workflow-heavy interfaces
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in an agile-like, sprint-based product development environment
- Experience using AI tools in your process, whether that's Figma Make, Claude, or something you've found on your own
- Bonus: experience designing for logistics, supply chain, or other complex operational tools
How We Work
We’re a hybrid team, working alongside designers and partners in our other offices. You’ll own your work, with regular critique and support from the wider design team. We’d rather you bring a rough idea early than a polished one late.
Why This Role Is Interesting
- Freight is an operationally complex industry, and there's real room to create and improve the software people rely on to run it
- You'll design for expert users who know their work deeply, which means you can build for depth and speed rather than simplicity for its own sake
- Our platform is built in-house, so you'll see your work in production and hear from users directly
- Our design system is mature but expanding, so you'll be adding to it rather than just pulling from it.
The Perks of Working With Us
- Take advantage of our comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental coverage.
- Invest in your future with our matching 401(k) program.
- Build relationships and take part in learning opportunities through our Employee Resource Groups.
- Enjoy office wide engagement activities, team events, happy hours and more!
- Leave the suit and tie at home; our dress code is casual.
- Work in the heart of downtown Chicago, IL!
- Sweat it out at the LifeStart gym in our office building that includes brand new Peloton bikes, top-of-the-line equipment and personal training options.
- Maximize your wellness with free counseling sessions through our Employee Assistance Program
- Take time to manage your physical and mental health - we offer company paid holidays, paid vacation time and wellness days.
- Receive 100% paid parental leave when you become a new parent.
- Get paid to work with your friends through our Referral Program!
- Get relocation assistance! If you are not local to the area, we offer relocation packages and have a Candidate Engagement Specialist who can answer any questions.
Your Arrive Experience
When we say “award-winning culture,” we mean it. We’ve been recognized as a top workplace by Inc. Fast Company, Fortune, and earned Top Workplaces and Great Place to Work, to name a few. We intend on topping many more of those lists in the years to come, but we’re not in it for the trophies. We’re committed to culture because it keeps us connected to each other and invested in our shared success while having a blast along the way. Our employee-founded resource groups create communities within Arrive’s walls, including Women in Logistics, Emerging Professionals, Prisms, Black Logistics Group, Salute and Unidos.

UX Designer Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a ux designer job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's fintech corridor, major hospital systems, and the enterprise software firms clustered in Fulton Market and the Loop, where ux designer hiring is most active. Candidates who show experience with end-to-end product design and can demonstrate familiarity with B2B or healthcare user research stand out locally. Attending Chicago design meetups and building relationships with in-house teams at mid-size tech companies also opens doors that general job applications miss.
Which companies hire ux designers in Chicago?
Chicago ux designer roles are posted by tag, Okta, and Affirm and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The city's hiring mix includes large financial institutions, health-tech scale-ups, and digital agencies based in the West Loop and River North neighborhoods.
Are there remote ux designer jobs in Chicago?
Yes, ux design work is well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements given its screen-based, collaborative nature. About 81% of ux designer openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Chicago employers have adopted flexible models since the pandemic. Research, wireframing, and stakeholder presentation work tends to be the most remote-friendly portion of the role locally.
How can I get a ux designer job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is building a portfolio through freelance projects or volunteer work with Chicago nonprofits and early-stage startups, which regularly take on junior designers for product improvements. Junior UX researcher and product design associate roles at Chicago health-tech and fintech firms are common stepping stones. Completing the Google UX Design Certificate and presenting case studies at Chicago Design and IxDA Chicago events gives newer candidates local visibility that online applications alone rarely deliver.
Which industries hire the most ux designers in Chicago?
Chicago ux designer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Chicago's deep roots in financial services, its growing health-technology sector anchored by major hospital networks, and its expanding base of enterprise software companies all create sustained demand for designers who can simplify complex workflows for professional users.
