Entry Level UX Researcher Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ux researcher job?
Build a portfolio with two or three case studies that show your research process from problem framing through synthesis and recommendation, even if the work comes from class projects, bootcamp assignments, or volunteer projects. Employers at this level look for candidates who can conduct usability tests, write discussion guides, and present findings clearly. Familiarity with tools like Maze, UserTesting, or Lookback, plus a basic grasp of survey design, gives candidates a real edge.
Which companies hire entry level ux researchers?
Companies hiring entry level ux researchers right now include Amazon, Google, and Collabera, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, you'll find openings at a broad mix of employers, from large technology companies and healthcare organizations to startups and design consultancies that bring on junior researchers to support established research teams.
Are there remote entry level ux researcher jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and role type. About 23% of entry level ux researcher openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making this one of the more flexible fields for early-career candidates. Many teams conduct moderated and unmoderated research sessions entirely online, so remote work is well suited to the day-to-day work of a junior researcher.
Are these new grad ux researcher jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior ux researcher roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic project work in place of full-time history, or explicitly asks for a portfolio rather than a long resume. If a job description mentions mentorship or a research team you'd be joining, that's another strong signal it's built for someone early in their career.
Which industries hire the most entry level ux researchers?
Entry level ux researcher roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to invest early in research because they're building or iterating on digital products where understanding user behavior directly shapes design and product decisions, creating consistent demand for junior researchers who can run studies and surface insights.
