Which companies sponsor visas for AI ML engineers in Arizona?
Intel's Chandler campus, Honeywell's aerospace and defense division in Phoenix, and Waymo's autonomous vehicle operations in the metro area have all filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for AI and ML engineering roles. Fintech firms like Vanguard's Scottsdale office and various cloud infrastructure startups in the Greater Phoenix area also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for AI/ML positions.
Which visa types are most common for AI ML engineer roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for AI and ML engineers in Arizona, as these roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates with a master's or PhD may also be eligible for the H-1B advanced degree exemption. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process without the lottery.
Which cities in Arizona have the most AI ML engineer sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs, particularly Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale, account for the majority of AI and ML engineering sponsorship activity in Arizona. Chandler is home to Intel's large semiconductor and AI research operations. Tempe hosts Arizona State University spinoffs and tech firms. Tucson has a smaller but growing presence driven by University of Arizona research partnerships and defense contractors such as Raytheon.
How to find ai ml engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for AI and ML engineer roles in Arizona without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, company size, and visa type. This is particularly useful for Arizona, where sponsorship activity is spread across Phoenix suburbs and a few anchor employers rather than concentrated in one market.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for AI ML engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Arizona State University and the University of Arizona produce a steady pipeline of AI and ML graduates, which means local employers are familiar with OPT and STEM OPT extensions as a bridge to H-1B sponsorship. Arizona's semiconductor and defense sectors, shaped by the CHIPS Act investments flowing into Intel's Chandler fab expansion, have increased demand for ML engineers specifically in chip design, manufacturing optimization, and computer vision applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai ml engineer jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
