Which companies sponsor visas for ML software engineers in Arizona?
Intel's Chandler campus, Honeywell's aerospace and defense division in Phoenix, and Microchip Technology are among the larger Arizona employers with established visa sponsorship programs for ML software engineers. Fintech companies concentrated in Scottsdale, such as GoDaddy and Carvana's data teams, also sponsor. Healthcare systems like Banner Health and Mayo Clinic's Phoenix campus hire ML engineers and have sponsored H-1B positions.
Which visa types are most common for ML software engineer roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for ML software engineers in Arizona, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates with advanced degrees may also see EB-2 pathways pursued by employers for permanent residence. Australians may encounter E-3 sponsorship at larger tech employers in the Phoenix metro.
Which cities in Arizona have the most ML software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and Scottsdale account for the majority of ML software engineer sponsorship activity in Arizona, driven by corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and healthcare organizations. Chandler is notable for Intel's large semiconductor R&D presence, which generates ML engineering demand. Tempe, home to Arizona State University, attracts startups and mid-size tech companies that hire ML engineers and have sponsored visas.
How to find ml software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters ML software engineer job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can browse Arizona openings without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. The platform covers employers across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Tempe. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate gives you a focused list of companies actively hiring ML engineers who need sponsorship in Arizona.
Are there any Arizona-specific factors ML software engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Arizona State University and University of Arizona produce a steady pipeline of ML and AI graduate talent, and several Phoenix-area employers have built relationships with those programs, which can influence hiring timelines around OPT periods. Arizona's semiconductor and aerospace sectors operate under export control regulations, which can add screening steps for international candidates at companies like Intel and Raytheon, potentially affecting sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ml software engineer jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
