Which companies in Arkansas sponsor visas for senior data science engineers?
Walmart Global Tech in Bentonville is the most prominent Arkansas-based sponsor for senior data science engineering roles, given its large technology division. Dillard's corporate operations in Little Rock and health systems connected to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences have also filed sponsorships for data-intensive positions. Smaller logistics and fintech firms in the state occasionally sponsor as well, though less consistently than these anchors.
What visa types are most commonly used for senior data science engineer roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for senior data science engineers in Arkansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, statistics, or a quantitative discipline. Candidates with approved I-140 petitions may also work under H-1B extensions beyond six years. O-1A visas are an option for applicants with documented extraordinary achievement in the field.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most senior data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville and the broader Northwest Arkansas corridor generate the highest concentration of senior data science engineer sponsorship activity, driven by Walmart Global Tech and its extensive supplier and technology partner ecosystem. Little Rock follows, anchored by healthcare, government contractors, and Dillard's. Fayetteville also sees demand linked to University of Arkansas research partnerships and regional tech companies that have scaled their data teams in recent years.
How to find senior data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state and role to surface senior data science engineer positions in Arkansas where employers have indicated openness to visa sponsorship. Given that Bentonville and Little Rock account for most of the state's activity, focusing your search there returns the most relevant results. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history context, which helps you prioritize outreach to companies with a track record in this role category.
Are there any state-specific considerations for senior data science engineers seeking sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas is not a major H-1B filing state by volume, so the pool of active sponsors is narrower than in states like California or Texas. However, the Department of Labor sets prevailing wage levels by geographic area, and Northwest Arkansas and Little Rock are designated separately, which affects what employers must pay sponsored workers. Candidates should also note that Walmart's technology hiring in Bentonville has drawn a meaningful international talent pipeline, making it one of the more experienced sponsors in the state for data science roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior data science engineer jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
