Which companies sponsor visas for senior data science engineers in Indiana?
Eli Lilly is among the most active sponsors for data science roles in Indiana, given its large research and analytics operations in Indianapolis. Salesforce, Cummins, OneAmerica, and Corteva Agriscience have also filed Labor Condition Applications for senior data science positions in the state. Healthcare systems such as Indiana University Health and Ascension also hire for advanced data roles with sponsorship support.
Which visa types are most common for senior data science engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for senior data science engineers in Indiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, statistics, or data science. Candidates already holding an H-1B elsewhere can transfer to an Indiana-based employer. O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional ability, though it requires substantial documentation.
Which cities in Indiana have the most senior data science engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates the majority of senior data science engineer sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its life sciences corridor, insurance sector, and growing tech presence. Bloomington sees demand connected to Indiana University's research ecosystem, including affiliated tech and biotech employers. Fort Wayne and Carmel have a smaller but present set of opportunities through manufacturing analytics and financial services firms operating in those areas.
How to find senior data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse senior data science engineer openings in Indiana without sorting through employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform surfaces roles at companies with documented sponsorship histories in the state, which is particularly useful given that Indiana's sponsoring employers are concentrated in life sciences, insurance, and manufacturing rather than a single dominant tech sector.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for senior data science engineers seeking sponsorship?
Indiana University and Purdue University produce strong graduate pipelines in data science and statistics, which means some Indiana employers are experienced with OPT and H-1B transitions for recent graduates. The state's life sciences and pharmaceutical sector, centered on the Indianapolis area, tends to require domain knowledge alongside core machine learning skills, so candidates with health data or research analytics backgrounds may find their profile particularly relevant to local sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior data science engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
