Which companies sponsor visas for senior data science engineers in Oregon?
Nike, Intel, Daimler Trucks North America, and Precision Castparts are among Oregon employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for senior data science and engineering roles. Portland-based technology companies and e-commerce operations also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data as active sponsors for senior data science engineer positions.
Which visa types are most common for senior data science engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for senior data science engineers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B specialized knowledge status or O-1A extraordinary ability visas may also find Oregon employers willing to support those categories for senior-level roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most senior data science engineer sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the large majority of Oregon's senior data science engineer sponsorship activity. The Hillsboro corridor is particularly active due to Intel's semiconductor research operations. Eugene sees smaller but steady demand, partly driven by technology companies with ties to the University of Oregon.
How to find senior data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify senior data science engineer openings in Oregon without sifting through positions that don't support work authorization. You can search by state and role to surface opportunities at Oregon-based employers in technology, manufacturing, and consumer goods sectors.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for senior data science engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's concentration of semiconductor and athletic technology employers means prevailing wage requirements are benchmarked against a competitive regional market, so sponsoring employers must meet Department of Labor wage standards for the Portland-Hillsboro metro area. The University of Oregon and Oregon State University also produce graduate-level data science talent that feeds local employer pipelines, which shapes how actively Oregon companies recruit internationally for senior roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior data science engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
