Which companies sponsor visas for AI program managers in California?
Large tech employers with active visa sponsorship programs for AI program managers in California include Google, Meta, Apple, Salesforce, Adobe, and NVIDIA, primarily in the Bay Area. AI-focused companies like Anthropic, Scale AI, and Databricks also sponsor frequently. These employers have in-house immigration teams and established H-1B sponsorship pipelines, making them among the more accessible options for international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for AI program manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI program managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Some candidates also enter through L-1B intracompany transfers if relocating from a multinational employer's foreign office. O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated distinction in the AI field.
Which cities in California have the most AI program manager sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Francisco itself, concentrates the largest share of AI program manager sponsorship opportunities in California. Los Angeles is a growing second hub, particularly around Santa Monica and Culver City where AI and enterprise tech companies have expanded. San Diego has a smaller but active presence, especially near UCSD's research corridor.
How to find ai program manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to identify AI program manager roles in California where employers have confirmed they sponsor. Because sponsorship is often unstated in general job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces verified sponsoring employers saves significant research time and helps you focus applications on companies already set up to hire international candidates.
Are there any California-specific considerations for AI program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply at the county level, so employers in San Francisco and Santa Clara counties are required to pay wages meeting Department of Labor benchmarks for the local market. California is also home to several university pipelines, including Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA, that feed directly into AI program management roles, meaning competition from OPT candidates is high and employers here are accustomed to sponsoring international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai program manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
