- Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week
- No set weekly schedule

- No on-call responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
Required
- Current California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) OR Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
- Minimum 1 year of psychiatric hospital experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Experience working in an acute behavioral health setting
Preferred
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification (training available onsite if needed)
- Associate degree or equivalent education
- Two years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience

Mental Health Technicians without LPT or LVN licensure are not eligible for this position.
Responsibilities
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide safe, compassionate psychiatric care by:
- Delivering direct patient care in a Psychiatric ICU
- Monitoring patient behavior and documenting changes
- Utilizing therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques
- Supporting patient admissions and discharges
- Administering medications as ordered
- Maintaining a safe therapeutic environment
- Conducting patient safety rounds
- Assisting with patient education and treatment planning
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams
- Implementing crisis intervention and behavioral management strategies when necessary
