Which companies sponsor visas for cleaning jobs in California?
Large hospitality and facility services employers are the most active sponsors for cleaning roles in California. ABM Industries, Aramark, Sodexo, and major hotel chains including Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt have sponsored workers in housekeeping and janitorial positions. Healthcare systems such as Kaiser Permanente and UC Health also hire cleaning staff and have sponsored visas through their facilities management operations.
Which visa types are most common for cleaning roles in California?
The H-2B visa is the most common pathway for seasonal cleaning and housekeeping work in California, covering temporary non-agricultural positions. Some larger employers with ongoing operational needs sponsor H-1B visas for supervisory or facilities management roles that require a relevant degree. EB-3 green card sponsorship also appears among established employers in hospitality and healthcare who have long-term staffing needs.
Which cities in California have the most cleaning visa sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles has the highest concentration of sponsored cleaning roles, driven by its large hotel, entertainment, and healthcare sectors. San Francisco and San Jose follow closely, supported by corporate campuses and major convention and hospitality venues. San Diego is also active, particularly in resort and hospital settings. Sacramento sees demand through state government facilities and growing healthcare campuses.
How to find cleaning visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate lists cleaning and housekeeping roles in California that are specifically filtered for visa sponsorship. You can browse openings by city or employer type, helping you focus on positions where companies have an active history of sponsoring work visas. Searching on Migrate Mate saves time compared to manually screening general job postings where sponsorship availability is often unclear.
Are there any state-specific considerations for cleaning workers seeking visa sponsorship in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements and strong labor protections mean employers sponsoring workers under H-2B visa or EB-3 pathways must meet state minimum wage standards, which are among the highest in the country. California's large tourism industry also means H-2B demand is concentrated in coastal resort markets with seasonal hiring peaks in summer and during major events. Workers with prior hospitality or institutional cleaning experience are generally more competitive.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cleaning jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
