About The Role
We are building a global consumer-facing product from the ground up, and we’re looking for a Lead Product Marketing Manager to define how this product goes to market and scales up. In this role, you will own end-to-end go-to-market strategy, leading product and feature launches while driving user growth across both in-product and external channels. You’ll play a key role in expanding distribution across social platforms and building engaged user communities that fuel adoption and retention. This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands how products grow in today’s ecosystem, and can turn strong products into scalable growth engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Own GTM & Launches: Lead end-to-end go-to-market strategy and execution for product features and market expansions.
- Drive Cross-Platform Growth: Expand product distribution across social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit).
- Build Communities: Grow and manage engaged user communities (e.g., Reddit, Discord) to drive retention and advocacy.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Align with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure successful launches and adoption.
- Leverage Data & Insights: Use performance metrics and experiments to optimize messaging, channels, and growth strategies.
- Scale GTM Operations: Develop playbooks, frameworks, and processes for repeatable, high-impact launches.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Drive successful global launches that accelerate user acquisition and engagement.
- Build scalable growth channels beyond the core product, especially across social ecosystems.
- Establish strong user communities that fuel retention, virality, and continuous feedback loops.
- Shape how AppLovin brings new consumer products to market at global scale.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, product operations, growth marketing, or GTM roles in tech, or content platforms.
- Proven track record of leading product launches and driving user growth across digital channels.
- Deep understanding of social platforms and community-building dynamics (e.g., Reddit, TikTok, Discord).
- Strong storytelling skills—you can translate product features into compelling user-facing narratives.
- Data-driven and comfortable with experimentation, funnel metrics, and performance analysis.
- Experienced in cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, marketing, and data teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple launches simultaneously.
- Builder mindset—you create structure, processes, and systems in fast-moving environments.
Nice To Have
- Experience in building a product from 0-1.
- Experience with launching consumer-based platform products.
- Background in community-led growth or creator ecosystems.
- Familiarity with growth loops, virality mechanics, and lifecycle marketing.
- Experience scaling products across international markets.
Why Join This Venture
- Build and launch a global consumer product from zero to scale.
- Own GTM strategy with direct impact on growth and adoption.
- Operate at the intersection of product, growth, and community.

Which companies in California sponsor visas for product marketing managers?
Large technology companies with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for product marketing managers in California. Google, Apple, Salesforce, Adobe, Meta, and Intuit have all filed H-1B petitions for marketing roles in the past. Larger organizations typically have dedicated immigration counsel and the infrastructure to manage sponsorship, making them more predictable options than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for product marketing manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product marketing managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, Canadians and Mexicans for TN status under USMCA, and those with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1. L-1 transfers are also used when a candidate relocates from a multinational employer's overseas office.
Which California cities have the most product marketing manager visa sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and the broader Bay Area account for the largest share of sponsored product marketing manager roles in California, driven by the concentration of enterprise SaaS and consumer tech companies. San Jose and Sunnyvale see strong activity from hardware and semiconductor firms. Los Angeles is a growing market, particularly in media tech, gaming, and e-commerce. San Diego has a smaller but active cluster tied to biotech and defense-adjacent software companies.
How to find product marketing manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for product marketing manager roles in California without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform focuses on international candidates, making it easier to identify employers actively open to sponsoring. Filtering by California and the product marketing function surfaces roles at both established tech companies and growth-stage startups across the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
Are there any California-specific considerations for product marketing managers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's high cost of living means Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for product marketing manager roles are among the highest in the country, which employers must meet when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. California also bans non-compete agreements, which can give internationally mobile candidates more flexibility between sponsored roles. University programs at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA feed a strong pipeline of OPT-eligible international graduates into Bay Area marketing teams, making California employers relatively familiar with sponsorship requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product marketing manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
