As a strategic talent architect for our global Technology organization, you will partner directly with executive leadership to design and scale an organizational structure that fuels innovation. This is a high-impact leadership position requiring the executive presence to influence tech roadmaps and the analytical rigor to solve complex organizational challenges before they become roadblocks.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Act as a critical thought partner to tech executives across Product, Engineering, Innovation, IT, CISO, and AI, ensuring the talent strategy is inextricably linked to the product and engineering roadmap and workforce.
- Diagnose organizational health metrics and sentiment to gauge effectiveness and lead large-scale design initiatives that improve velocity, clarity, and innovation across global teams.
- Leverage advanced data analytics and AI-driven tools to provide high-value talent and leadership insights, moving beyond historical reporting to forecast future business and talent needs.
- Drive executive-level succession planning, leadership coaching and development, and performance culture designed to thrive in high-velocity technical environments.
- Act as a strategic translator, independently driving high-impact collaboration across P&C Centers of Excellence and cross-functional partners to ensure the unique needs of the Technology org are seamlessly supported.
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what’s needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a positive force. You approach hard problems with constructive energy and a 'can-do' spirit that is contagious, inspiring your team to stay focused on the solution.
- You think at scale. You connect your day-to-day work to the larger company mission and think globally. You build solutions, processes, and teams that are not just effective today but are built to last and support a high-growth, global organization.
- You are resilient and adaptable. You view change as an opportunity and setbacks as temporary. You maintain composure and focus in high-pressure situations, guiding yourself and your team through complexity with a steady, positive hand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years experience as a People and Culture Partner or HR Leader in a global, high growth, transformative Security or SaaS organization supporting complex Technology organizations (Engineering, Product, IT, etc).
- Demonstrated "Technical Weight" - you understand the nuances of R&D cycles and the evolving landscape of AI, allowing you to speak the language of tech leaders.
- Proven ability to leverage data analytics to tell compelling stories, using data to justify strategic shifts to a highly skeptical, data-centric executive audience.
- Strong executive presence with the "gravitas" to challenge senior leaders and the empathy to serve as the trusted and compassionate face of People & Culture.
- Track record of independently leading large-scale organizational design initiatives, executive-level succession planning, and navigating complex, global talent challenges.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience actively modernizing People & Culture practices by identifying and integrating AI-driven tools into daily HR analytics and talent insights.
- Deep expertise in acting as a cross-functional "translator," successfully bridging the gap between high-velocity engineering cultures and specialized corporate functions (Finance, Legal, Compliance, and HR CoEs).
- Prior experience supporting innovation-heavy teams through rapid scaling or significant structural transformation.

Which companies sponsor visas for technology business partners in California?
Large technology and enterprise companies in California with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for technology business partner roles include Salesforce, Google, Apple, Meta, Oracle, and Cisco in the Bay Area, along with Qualcomm and ServiceNow in Southern California. Healthcare systems such as Kaiser Permanente also sponsor for this function. Sponsorship activity is generally concentrated at companies large enough to maintain dedicated HR and immigration infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for technology business partner roles in California?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa for technology business partner roles in California, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Some candidates with prior U.S. employer relationships may also see L-1B intracompany transfer petitions used where the role involves specialized knowledge of proprietary systems.
How to find technology business partner visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technology business partner roles in California without sorting through postings from employers who do not sponsor. You can narrow results by location within California, including the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Because sponsoring employers self-identify on the platform, the results are more targeted than a general job search for this function.
Which cities in California have the most technology business partner sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Mountain View, and San Francisco itself, concentrates the highest volume of technology business partner sponsorship activity in California due to the density of enterprise technology companies headquartered there. Los Angeles has a growing secondary market driven by media technology and healthcare IT employers. San Diego sees demand primarily from biotech, defense technology, and semiconductor companies such as Qualcomm.
Are there state-specific considerations for technology business partner roles and visa sponsorship in California?
California employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must attest to paying at least the prevailing wage for the technology business partner role in the specific metropolitan area, which is determined by Department of Labor wage data and tends to be higher in Bay Area metros than national averages. California's strong employee protection laws also mean that offer letters and employment agreements for sponsored workers are subject to state-specific requirements, so employers experienced with California-based immigration filings are better positioned to complete sponsorship efficiently.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technology business partner jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
