Which companies sponsor visas for operations technicians in Colorado?
Lockheed Martin and Ball Aerospace in the Denver metro and Colorado Springs have sponsored operations technician roles through H-1B visa and other work visas. Xcel Energy, Raytheon, and L3Harris also have sponsorship histories in Colorado. Sponsorship decisions vary by role, team budget, and business need, so researching individual employer filings through DOL disclosure data gives the clearest picture of actual sponsorship activity.
Which visa types are most common for operations technician roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for operations technician positions that require a relevant bachelor's degree, such as roles in aerospace systems, energy grid operations, or manufacturing process control. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering-adjacent roles. O-1 visas are less common but possible for technicians with documented exceptional expertise or industry recognition.
Which cities in Colorado have the most operations technician sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its suburbs, particularly Aurora and Lakewood, concentrate the most operations technician openings due to the density of aerospace contractors and energy firms. Colorado Springs hosts a strong defense and satellite systems sector with employers like Northrop Grumman and Raytheon. Boulder attracts roles tied to research-driven operations, particularly in clean energy and instrumentation, making it a secondary but active hiring market.
How to find operations technician visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to operations technician roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to avoid wasting time on positions that won't support international candidates. For Colorado, filtering by cities like Denver, Colorado Springs, and Boulder surfaces the most relevant openings across aerospace, energy, and advanced manufacturing. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate lets you set alerts as new sponsored roles are posted.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations technician visa sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are set at the federal level using DOL wage data for specific occupational categories and metro areas, so wages offered in Denver will differ from those in smaller Colorado markets. The state's concentration of defense contractors also means many operations technician roles require security clearances, which can complicate sponsorship timelines since clearance eligibility for non-U.S. citizens is restricted in most cases.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations technician jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
