Which companies sponsor visas for AI/ML engineers in Delaware?
Financial services firms are among the most active sponsors in Delaware, with institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Barclays maintaining operations in Wilmington that hire quantitative and machine learning engineers. Life sciences companies including AstraZeneca and Incyte also sponsor technical AI roles. Delaware-incorporated holding companies for larger multinationals occasionally appear in sponsorship filings as well.
Which visa types are most common for AI/ML engineering roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for AI/ML engineers in Delaware, as these roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary ability may qualify for the O-1A. Multinational transfers into Delaware offices sometimes use the L-1B for specialized knowledge workers.
Which cities in Delaware have the most AI/ML engineering sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington is by far the primary concentration point for AI/ML sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its dense financial services sector. Newark, home to the University of Delaware and nearby corporate research facilities, also generates technical hiring. The I-95 corridor between Wilmington and the Pennsylvania border sees the most consistent demand for machine learning and data engineering talent.
How to find ai ml engineering visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers willing to sponsor work visas, which removes the guesswork of identifying sponsorship-friendly companies. For AI/ML engineering roles in Delaware, searching Migrate Mate by state and role category surfaces positions from financial services, life sciences, and technology employers who have active sponsorship programs. Filtering by visa type helps narrow results to your specific situation.
Are there any Delaware-specific factors AI/ML engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Delaware's incorporation-friendly legal environment means many large companies are legally domiciled there even if their technical operations sit elsewhere, so job location and legal employer entity may differ. For H-1B purposes, the worksite location drives the prevailing wage determination, not the state of incorporation. AI/ML engineers should confirm which physical office location the role is tied to, as that affects the Department of Labor wage level used in the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai ml engineering jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
