Which companies sponsor visas for technical consultants in Florida?
Large consulting firms with significant Florida footprints, including Accenture, Deloitte, Cognizant, Infosys, and Wipro, are among the most active H-1B sponsors for technical consultant roles in the state. Healthcare IT firms concentrated in Tampa and Orlando, along with defense contractors near Jacksonville, also sponsor technical consultants with specialized skills in areas such as ERP systems, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
Which visa types are most common for technical consultant roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical consultant roles in Florida, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Some consultants enter through the L-1B intracompany transferee visa when moving from an overseas office of the same employer. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles.
Which cities in Florida have the most technical consultant sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads in fintech and enterprise consulting, attracting international firms with regional headquarters. Orlando has a strong healthcare IT and hospitality technology sector, generating consistent demand for technical consultants. Tampa is home to a growing cluster of financial services and managed IT firms. Jacksonville supports defense and logistics consulting roles. Each city draws from a different industry base, so your specialization often determines which market is the best fit.
How to find technical consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Florida employers actively sponsoring technical consultants rather than sorting through roles that do not offer sponsorship. The platform covers positions across Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville, and you can filter by role type to surface technical consultant openings. Reviewing employer sponsorship history alongside active listings helps prioritize companies with a demonstrated track record.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for technical consultant visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects compensation comparisons when evaluating offers relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B regulations. The state's large university system, including the University of Florida and Florida International University, produces a pipeline of STEM graduates, meaning entry-level technical consultant roles can be competitive. Florida's concentration of Latin American business operations in Miami also creates demand for consultants with bilingual skills and international project experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical consultant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
