While this role does not include direct people management, it carries strong expectations to lead through influence—driving outcomes through expertise, credibility, and partnership rather than formal authority.
GP AI Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

- Translate strategy into a sequenced, determined roadmap aligned with GP priorities, productivity targets, and enterprise risk posture.
Agentic AI Development & Innovation

- Personally lead rapid innovation cycles, including ideation, prototyping, and proof-of-concept (POC) development using technology available within Micron.
Technology Alignment & Enterprise Partnership
- Align and influence enterprise AI architecture and technology decisions, partnering with IT, enterprise architecture, and security to ensure Global Procurement requirements are embedded and solutions are scalable, governed, and enterprise-ready.
- Guide AI investment and sourcing strategy related to worldwide procurement activities, maintaining market awareness of procurement AI vendors and evaluating build vs. buy vs. partner options to deliver objective, capability-aligned recommendations.
Enterprise Representation & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Represent and advise Global Procurement on enterprise AI strategy, partnering cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Finance, IT, Security) and serving as a trusted advisor to GP leadership on AI trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic implications.
- Enable and mentor GP teams on practical, responsible AI adoption, mentoring leaders and individual contributors on when and how to apply (including agentic AI), and safely develop, build, and iterate AI solutions using approved enterprise platforms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent area.
- 8–12+ years of experience spanning AI strategy, digital transformation, advanced analytics, intelligent automation, or related domains in sophisticated enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience defining strategy and converting it into executable roadmaps with tangible business outcomes.
- Strong hands-on experience developing agentic AI or automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, UiPath, or Moveworks.
- Proven track record delivering rapid POCs that successfully transition into scaled, production solutions.
- Experience influencing senior collaborators and driving outcomes without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and enable business users and leaders on effective and responsible use of AI. This includes hands-on mentorship in crafting and advancing autonomous AI solutions. Capable of translating complex AI concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Additional certifications or advanced education in AI, machine learning, automation, or digital transformation strongly preferred.
- Strategic problem solver with a strong bias toward execution and learning through experimentation.

Which companies sponsor visas for AI product engineers in Idaho?
Micron Technology in Boise is one of Idaho's most active H-1B sponsors, given its large engineering workforce. HP Inc. also maintains a significant presence in the state. Beyond these established employers, a growing number of Boise-based software and data companies have filed Labor Condition Applications for AI and machine learning engineering roles, though sponsorship activity remains more limited than in major tech hubs.
Which visa types are most common for AI product engineer roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for AI product engineers in Idaho, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary ability or recognition in the field may also explore the O-1A. Australians working in Idaho may qualify for the E-3, which has no lottery and is processed separately.
Which cities in Idaho have the most AI product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the overwhelming majority of AI product engineer sponsorship activity in Idaho. The city hosts the state's largest concentration of tech employers, including Micron's headquarters and regional offices of national software companies. Meridian and Nampa, both within the Treasure Valley metro area, have seen secondary hiring growth as companies expand out of central Boise. Other parts of Idaho have very limited sponsorship activity in this role.
How to find ai product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in roles like AI product engineering. You can filter by state to surface Idaho-specific openings from employers with a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Because Idaho's sponsorship market is smaller than coastal states, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new Idaho listings ensures you catch relevant postings as soon as they appear rather than discovering them late.
Are there state-specific factors that affect AI product engineer sponsorship in Idaho?
Idaho does not have state-level immigration programs, so federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements apply. Employers must pay at least the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the Boise or relevant metro area, which is generally lower than San Francisco or Seattle prevailing wages. Boise State University and the University of Idaho produce graduates in computer science and engineering, giving local employers a pipeline that can reduce urgency to sponsor, so demonstrating specialized AI expertise strengthens a candidate's case.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai product engineer jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
