JOB SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and support to staff at our home care company, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with system upgrades, and maintaining IT security protocols to support the company’s mission of delivering high-quality home care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide first-line IT support to office staff via phone, email, or in-person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues (computers, printers, mobile devices, etc.).
- Coordinate with IT Vendor on complex troubleshooting when needed.

Assist with setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, printers, and security cameras.

System & Network Maintenance:

Monitor and coordinate with IT Vendor on IT infrastructure, including servers, routers, and firewalls.
- Assist with user account management (Google Workspace, Office 365, EHR/EMR systems).
- Standardize systems and processes for scaling operations.

Ensure data backups and disaster recovery processes are functional.

Security & Compliance:

Enforce IT security policies to protect sensitive patient and company data (HIPAA compliance knowledge preferred).
- Assist with cybersecurity measures, including antivirus updates and phishing prevention.

Oversee/coordinate audits of system security and coordinate with 3rd party vendors when necessary.

Documentation & Process Improvement:

Maintain IT documentation (e.g., troubleshooting guides, inventory logs).
- Recommend improvements to IT systems and workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2+ years in IT support, preferably in healthcare or home care.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Homecare Homebase, ClearCare, AxisCare) is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT is preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users.
- Customer service oriented with patience and professionalism.
