Project Superintendent – Heavy Civil & Mission Critical Projects
Company: Gregory Construction
Gregory Construction, a faith-driven and nationally recognized leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a seasoned Project Superintendent to take full ownership of field operations on complex, high-impact projects. This role is built for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, takes pride in delivering work the right way, and is fully committed to going where the work is.
Travel is a core requirement of this role. Projects are located across the Southwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Assignments are based on business needs—not geographic preference—so flexibility and a willingness to travel extensively (and for extended durations) are essential to success. This is not a home-based position.
What You’ll Do
- Take complete responsibility for day-to-day field operations, leading crews and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Drive project execution by owning the schedule, sequencing, and manpower planning in coordination with Project Management.
- Champion a culture of safety by actively enforcing site-specific plans and holding teams accountable to Gregory’s standards.
- Maintain a constant presence in the field—monitoring productivity, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring work is installed correctly the first time.
- Oversee jobsite logistics, equipment coordination, and material flow to keep projects moving without disruption.
- Manage and review critical field documentation including daily reports, production tracking, change orders, and T&M work.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for clients, inspectors, and engineers.
- Build, mentor, and develop field teams while reinforcing Gregory’s core values: Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Communication, and Determination.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of proven experience leading field operations in heavy civil construction; mission critical project experience is a strong plus.
- A leadership style grounded in accountability, urgency, and field presence—not from behind a desk.
- Strong technical understanding of sitework, underground utilities, grading, paving, and equipment utilization.
- Ability to read plans, anticipate challenges, and proactively solve problems to keep work on track.
- Experience with construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar tools).
- OSHA 30 certification required; CPR/First Aid preferred.
- High school diploma required; construction-related degree preferred.
What Sets You Apart
- You’re willing to go where the work is—without hesitation—and stay as long as the project requires.
- You take ownership of your jobsite and treat every project like it’s your own.
- You lead from the front, earning respect through action, consistency, and decision-making in the field.
Why Gregory Construction
- Competitive compensation package including health, dental, PTO, and 401(k) with company match.
- Opportunity to lead challenging, high-profile projects across multiple regions.
- A values-driven culture that invests in its people and promotes long-term career growth.

Which companies sponsor visas for superintendents in Kentucky?
Construction and engineering firms operating in Kentucky, including large general contractors managing infrastructure and industrial projects around Louisville and Lexington, have historically filed H-1B visa and other work visa petitions for superintendent-level roles. Public school districts occasionally sponsor foreign nationals for administrative superintendent positions, though this is less common. Sponsorship depends heavily on the specific employer's size, legal resources, and documented need for the candidate.
Which visa types are most common for superintendent roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used category for superintendent roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, particularly in construction management and school district administration where a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required. Candidates with extraordinary ability in educational leadership may explore the O-1A. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Each visa type carries specific employer obligations and eligibility criteria.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most superintendent sponsorship jobs?
Louisville and Lexington account for the largest share of superintendent-level hiring in Kentucky, driven by ongoing infrastructure development, commercial construction activity, and the presence of larger school districts. Bowling Green and Owensboro see periodic demand tied to manufacturing facility expansions and regional construction projects. Candidates willing to consider roles across multiple metro areas will generally encounter a broader range of employers actively hiring at the superintendent level.
How to find superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters superintendent job listings in Kentucky specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you time that would otherwise go toward screening employers individually. The platform covers roles in construction management, school district administration, and industrial operations across Louisville, Lexington, and beyond. Searching Migrate Mate for Kentucky superintendent positions lets you focus on employers who have already indicated willingness to support work authorization.
Are there state-specific considerations for superintendent visa sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B petitions, meaning employers must pay the federally determined wage for the superintendent role in the specific geographic area. For public school district superintendent positions, Kentucky state certification requirements may affect eligibility independent of immigration status, and not all foreign credentials automatically satisfy state licensing boards. Candidates should verify both immigration and professional licensure requirements with qualified legal and credentialing advisors before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored superintendent jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
