Tips for Finding H-2B Sponsorship Jobs in Massachusetts
Target Cape Cod and the Islands early
Seasonal hospitality and landscaping employers on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket file H-2B petitions months before summer. Reaching out to resorts, inns, and landscaping companies in February or March puts you ahead of the rush.
Focus on employers with a history of H-2B filings
Check the Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure data to identify Massachusetts employers who have filed H-2B labor certifications in previous years. Repeat filers are far more likely to sponsor again than employers new to the process.
Look beyond Boston for the highest sponsorship density
Most Massachusetts H-2B hiring happens outside the city, in coastal towns, ski areas, and golf resorts. Provincetown, Lenox, and North Adams attract seasonal workers across hospitality, grounds maintenance, and amusement operations.
Search Migrate Mate for current H-2B openings in Massachusetts
Migrate Mate filters jobs by visa type, so you can browse H-2B roles in Massachusetts directly without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. It saves time when the filing window is short and competition is high.
Understand the seasonal timing of H-2B cap allocations
H-2B visas are subject to a national cap split between two half-year periods. Massachusetts employers typically file for the first half allocation for summer season work, so applications submitted late may miss the cap entirely.
Contact seafood processing facilities on the North Shore
Gloucester and Rockport have active seafood processing operations that have historically used H-2B workers for temporary production roles. These employers are less visible online, so direct outreach to processing plants can surface opportunities that don't appear on job boards.

Which industries in Massachusetts sponsor the most H-2B visas?
Landscaping and groundskeeping is the largest H-2B employer category in Massachusetts, followed by hospitality and resort operations, amusement and recreation, and seafood processing. Coastal tourism drives significant seasonal demand, particularly for housekeeping, food service, and grounds maintenance roles tied to the state's summer economy.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most H-2B sponsorship jobs?
The highest concentration of H-2B sponsorship is on Cape Cod, including Hyannis, Falmouth, and Provincetown, as well as the island communities of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The North Shore corridor around Gloucester also generates consistent demand, and the Berkshires see seasonal hiring tied to resorts, summer camps, and cultural venues.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Massachusetts?
H-2B roles in Massachusetts are almost entirely temporary, non-agricultural positions tied to seasonal peaks. Common qualifying roles include housekeepers, landscapers, groundskeepers, amusement park attendants, fishing and seafood processing workers, and food service staff at hotels and resorts. The role must be temporary in nature and tied to a defined seasonal or peak-load need.
How do I find H-2B jobs in Massachusetts that offer sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter openings by visa type, so you can search H-2B roles in Massachusetts without wading through positions that don't sponsor. You can also cross-reference the DOL's OFLC disclosure database to identify Massachusetts employers who have filed H-2B certifications in previous seasons and contact them directly before positions are advertised.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
