Which companies sponsor visas for delivery drivers in Michigan?
Large logistics and e-commerce companies with Michigan distribution networks are the most active sponsors, including Amazon, FedEx, UPS, and regional freight carriers. Sponsorship is typically limited to roles requiring specialized qualifications, such as logistics coordination, fleet management, or supply chain oversight, rather than entry-level delivery positions. Companies operating out of Detroit Metro, Grand Rapids, and Flint tend to have the highest hiring volume.
Which visa types are most common for delivery driver roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for sponsored logistics roles in Michigan, though it applies primarily to positions with a clear specialty occupation component, such as transportation operations management. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa for certain logistics roles covered by the USMCA. Standard delivery driving positions rarely meet the specialty occupation threshold required for these visa categories.
Which cities in Michigan have the most delivery driver sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro area account for the largest share of delivery and logistics employment in Michigan, given its status as a major freight corridor between the U.S. and Canada. Grand Rapids and Lansing also have active logistics hubs tied to manufacturing and distribution. Ann Arbor sees occasional openings connected to medical and university-linked supply chains.
How to find delivery driver visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa-sponsored roles in the U.S. You can filter by state and job category to surface delivery driver and logistics positions in Michigan that have a history of sponsorship. Because sponsorship for driving roles is limited, setting up alerts and checking regularly gives you the best chance of catching openings as they appear on Migrate Mate.
Are there state-specific considerations for delivery driver sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Michigan's position as a major U.S.-Canada trade corridor means logistics roles here often involve cross-border freight, which can affect the type of work authorization needed. The state's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are determined by the Department of Labor and apply regardless of employer size. Roles tied to automotive supply chains in Southeast Michigan may offer more sponsorship pathways than standard last-mile delivery positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored delivery driver jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
