A bit about us:
We are a full-service law firm built by attorneys who wanted a more thoughtful and flexible way to practice law. Our work spans a broad range of legal matters, and we approach each engagement with a focus on practical judgment, collaboration, and efficiency. We value clear thinking over rigid process and encourage lawyers to understand the broader context of a client’s goals. Our teams work closely across disciplines, allowing us to adapt as matters evolve. Internally, we operate with a collegial mindset, open communication, and respect for different perspectives, believing that strong relationships and sound judgment lead to better outcomes for both clients and colleagues.
Why join us?
We provide an environment where lawyers can develop meaningful practices without being confined to narrow roles or predetermined paths. Attorneys are trusted with responsibility early, work directly with experienced colleagues, and gain exposure to substantive matters and clients. We value initiative, curiosity, and practical problem-solving, and we support lawyers who want to shape their careers thoughtfully over time. Our culture is professional and grounded, with an emphasis on flexibility, balance, and long-term sustainability. Good ideas are welcomed regardless of seniority, and success is measured by quality of work, collaboration, and personal growth—not by adherence to tradition alone.
JOB DETAILS
We are seeking a litigation associate to join a well-established and growing litigation practice with a strong emphasis on employment-related disputes. This role offers hands-on involvement in all stages of litigation, along with meaningful client interaction and increasing responsibility over time. Associates are trusted with substantive work early and are encouraged to develop sound judgment, strong advocacy skills, and practical problem-solving abilities. While litigation is the primary focus, there is also an opportunity to participate in employment law advice and counseling consistent with experience level.
Responsibilities
- Handle employment-related litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other written advocacy materials
- Manage discovery, including document review, case organization, and strategy
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues
- Assist with hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Work directly with clients and contribute to litigation strategy
- Support employment counseling and compliance matters as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–5 years of litigation experience, with employment litigation experience preferred
- Experience drafting pleadings and managing discovery processes
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned matters
REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in at least one New England jurisdiction
- Admission in Maine or New Hampshire required; Massachusetts a plus
- Interest in developing a long-term litigation practice with employment law exposure

Which companies sponsor visas for legal associates in New Hampshire?
Sponsorship for legal associates in New Hampshire comes primarily from larger regional law firms, insurance carriers, healthcare systems like Dartmouth Health, and financial services companies with in-house legal departments. Smaller boutique firms rarely sponsor due to cost and administrative burden. Nationally networked firms with New Hampshire offices, particularly those handling corporate, intellectual property, or regulatory work, are the most consistent sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for legal associate roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for legal associates in New Hampshire, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in law or a related field. Foreign-educated attorneys who hold an LL.M. from a U.S. law school are frequently sponsored under H-1B. The O-1A is an option for those with demonstrated exceptional achievement, though it applies to a smaller subset of candidates.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most legal associate sponsorship jobs?
Manchester is the primary hiring hub for legal associates in New Hampshire, as the state's largest city and its commercial center. Concord, the state capital, generates demand through government-adjacent legal work, regulatory practices, and lobbying-related roles. Nashua, near the Massachusetts border, also sees activity from employers with cross-state operations. Portsmouth has a smaller but active legal market tied to maritime and real estate practices.
How to find legal associate visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, including legal associate positions in New Hampshire. The platform filters jobs by sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support visa candidates. Focusing your search on employers with documented H-1B filing histories in the legal sector will significantly narrow the field to realistic opportunities in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for legal associates seeking sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire does not have a state income tax on wages, which affects how prevailing wage calculations compare to neighboring states when evaluating offers. Legal associates who passed the bar in another jurisdiction will need to assess New Hampshire bar admission requirements separately, as bar eligibility affects whether a role qualifies as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes. Employers in Manchester and Concord tend to hire through established relationships with regional law schools including UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored legal associate jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
