Which companies sponsor visas for ml engineers in New Jersey?
Companies with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for ml engineer roles in New Jersey include Cognizant, Johnson & Johnson, Verizon, Merck, and Prudential Financial. Consulting firms such as Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services also place ml engineers across New Jersey client sites. Sponsorship patterns vary by year and business need, so checking recent DOL LCA disclosure data gives the most current picture.
Which visa types are most common for ml engineer roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa for ml engineers in New Jersey, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates already authorized under OPT or STEM OPT extensions can begin working while an H-1B petition is pending. L-1B intracompany transfers are another pathway for candidates moving from a foreign affiliate of a New Jersey employer.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most ml engineer sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark generate the highest concentration of ml engineer sponsorship activity, largely because of their proximity to New York City's financial and tech sectors. Princeton and Plainsboro attract roles tied to pharmaceutical and life sciences companies along the Route 1 corridor. Parsippany and Florham Park also see consistent activity from large corporate headquarters with established immigration support infrastructure.
How to find ml engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have demonstrated visa sponsorship willingness, including ml engineer positions across New Jersey. Rather than sorting through unfiltered postings, you can search directly for sponsorship-confirmed roles in cities like Jersey City, Princeton, or Newark. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize applications toward companies with an active track record in New Jersey.
Are there state-specific considerations for ml engineers seeking sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical, financial services, and telecommunications employers creates strong demand for ml engineers with domain-specific skills in areas like drug discovery modeling, fraud detection, and network optimization. Rutgers University and NJIT feed a steady pipeline of graduate-level candidates, making competition for sponsored roles active. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must attest to prevailing wage compliance, which is determined by the specific job location within New Jersey, not a statewide average.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ml engineer jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
