About Baselayer
Trusted by 2,200+ financial institutions, Baselayer is the intelligent business identity platform that helps verify any business, automate KYB, and monitor real-time risk. Baselayer’s B2B risk solutions and identity graph network leverage state and federal government filings and proprietary data sources to prevent fraud, accelerate onboarding, and lower credit losses.
We are a fast-growing SaaS company operating in a highly regulated space, focused on building durable infrastructure, best-in-class processes, and a culture of ownership and execution.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Finance & Business Intelligence Analyst to play a foundational role in building and scaling Baselayer’s financial and operational intelligence. This role will work across all functions including Finance, Operations, Sales, Product, and Engineering to improve how the company measures performance, makes decisions, and scales.
This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Head of Operations & Finance. You will own core financial processes, business intelligence tooling, and operational reporting, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and data integrity. You will also help develop recurring executive and board-level reporting.
This is not a plug-and-play analyst role. We are looking for someone who wants to build, improve, and own best-in-class financial and operational processes from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Financial and Operational Processes
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve core financial and operational processes, including reporting, forecasting inputs, and performance tracking
- Develop, maintain, and improve monthly, quarterly, and board-level financial and operational reports
- Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, KPI development, and executive reporting
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and auditability across financial and operational systems
Business Intelligence and Analytics
- Own and enhance Metabase dashboards, ensuring they are accurate, actionable, and trusted across the company
- Design and maintain SQL-based data models and reporting views to support company-wide decision-making
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical frameworks and insights
Systems and Tooling
- Drive improvements in HubSpot reporting, tracking, and data structure in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies across tools and workflows, and proactively propose solutions
- Act as a connective layer between Finance, GTM, Product, and Engineering when data or systems need improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with leaders and individual contributors across the company to understand metrics, surface insights, and improve operational clarity
- Help establish consistent definitions, metrics, and reporting standards across teams
- Serve as a trusted analytical partner who brings structure and clarity to complex problems
About You
You are highly analytical, deeply curious, and motivated by building systems that scale. You thrive in environments with ownership, ambiguity, and high expectations.
Required Experience and Skills
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Finance, Business Intelligence, FP&A, Analytics, or a related role, ideally in a SaaS or technology-driven company
- Highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Highly advanced SQL skills, with experience writing complex, performant queries
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards, Metabase strongly preferred
- Experience working with CRM or GTM systems, HubSpot strongly preferred
- Experience preparing executive-level and board-facing reporting is strongly preferred
What Sets You Apart
- You think out of the box and enjoy improving how things work rather than maintaining the status quo
- You are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating without detailed instructions
- You care deeply about data quality, consistency, and trust
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You want to be foundational and help build something that lasts

Which companies sponsor visas for business operations analysts in New York?
Financial institutions and professional services firms are the most consistent sponsors in New York. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Deloitte, and IBM regularly file Labor Condition Applications for business operations analyst roles. Large healthcare organizations such as NewYork-Presbyterian and insurance companies like MetLife and AXA also sponsor international candidates for operations-focused positions across their New York offices.
Which visa types are most common for business operations analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business operations analyst positions in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B or O-1 status sometimes transfer into analyst roles. Some employers in consulting also support TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals where the role aligns with a qualifying USMCA occupation category.
Which cities in New York have the most business operations analyst sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of business operations analyst sponsorship activity in New York, driven by the concentration of financial institutions, consulting firms, and technology companies in Midtown and Lower Manhattan. Buffalo has a growing presence through financial services back-office operations and healthcare systems. Albany sees sponsorship activity primarily through state-adjacent consulting and government contracting firms. Remote-friendly roles headquartered in New York City also appear frequently.
How to find business operations analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse business operations analyst roles in New York without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers with documented sponsorship histories in this role category across New York, which is particularly useful given how broadly the business operations analyst title is used across industries in the state.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for business operations analysts seeking visa sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements follow Department of Labor determinations for the New York metropolitan area, which rank among the highest wage floors in the country for business operations roles, reflecting the cost of labor in the region. Employers filing H-1B petitions must certify they are meeting these wage levels on the Labor Condition Application. Candidates from universities in the New York metro area, including NYU, Columbia, and Cornell Tech, are often well positioned with local employer networks that have established sponsorship pipelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business operations analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
