Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers in New York?
Large enterprise technology and financial services employers are among the most active sponsors in New York. Companies like IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Google, Amazon Web Services, and Verizon have consistently filed Labor Condition Applications for cloud solutions engineer roles in the state. Consulting firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, and Cognizant also sponsor frequently, particularly for roles supporting financial and healthcare sector clients.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for cloud solutions engineers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT extension also fill many of these roles. L-1B visas are used by multinationals transferring engineers with specialized cloud platform knowledge from overseas offices.
Which cities in New York have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan, accounts for the overwhelming majority of cloud solutions engineer sponsorship openings in the state. The concentration of financial institutions, media companies, and enterprise technology vendors in midtown and downtown Manhattan drives consistent demand. Albany sees some hiring through state government IT modernization contracts, and Buffalo has a growing tech presence, though both trail NYC significantly in total sponsorship volume.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse cloud solutions engineer roles open to sponsored candidates in New York. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship eligibility is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor, saving time during what can be an urgent job search for candidates on OPT or between visa statuses.
Are there any state-specific considerations for cloud solutions engineers seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York's Department of Labor sets prevailing wage determinations that employers must meet when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B workers, and wages in the NYC metro area are benchmarked against one of the highest prevailing wage tiers in the country. Many cloud solutions engineer roles in New York also require familiarity with financial services compliance environments, which can influence how employers define the specialty occupation and structure the position for visa purposes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
