What’s the interview process like?
It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
What if I need accommodations for my interview?
At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.

Which companies sponsor visas for directors of partnerships in New York?
Technology companies with New York offices, including Google, Salesforce, Microsoft, and Amazon, are among the more active sponsors for director-level partnership roles. Large media companies, fintech firms, and enterprise software businesses headquartered in Manhattan also sponsor regularly. Senior partnership positions that require specialized business development expertise and demonstrated industry relationships tend to attract sponsorship consideration from these employers.
Which visa types are most common for director of partnerships roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for director of partnerships roles, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related field and qualify as specialty occupations. Senior candidates with exceptional achievement may be considered for the O-1A. Candidates already holding L-1 visa intracompany transferee status through a multinational employer are another common pathway into New York-based director roles.
How to find director of partnerships visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters director of partnerships roles specifically to employers who have a documented history of visa sponsorship, saving you the time of screening job postings manually. For New York, you can narrow results to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other city hubs where partnership-focused hiring is concentrated. Migrate Mate is built for international job seekers, so every listing is relevant to candidates who need employer sponsorship.
Which cities in New York have the most director of partnerships sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the largest share of director of partnerships openings in New York, particularly in Midtown and the Flatiron District where technology, media, and enterprise software companies cluster. Brooklyn has grown as a secondary hub, especially among mid-stage tech companies. Buffalo and Albany see occasional openings tied to healthcare networks and state-affiliated organizations, but the overwhelming concentration of sponsored senior roles remains in New York City.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for international candidates pursuing director of partnerships roles?
New York employers filing H-1B petitions for director of partnerships positions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific role and work location, which are determined by the job's duties and level rather than its title. New York's density of major employers also means strong competition for senior roles, so candidates with demonstrable partner ecosystem experience, an existing network in the relevant industry, and leadership credentials tend to advance furthest in the hiring process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of partnerships jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
