Which companies sponsor visas for field managers in New York?
Construction firms such as Turner Construction and AECOM, utility providers including Con Edison and National Grid, and telecommunications companies like Verizon have historically sponsored field managers in New York. Agricultural operations in the Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley regions also sponsor field supervisors, though typically through different visa pathways than corporate employers. Sponsorship patterns vary by employer size and project scope.
Which visa types are most common for field manager roles in New York?
H-1B visas apply when the field manager role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which generally requires a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. EB-3 immigrant visas are more commonly used for field managers in agricultural and infrastructure sectors. Some roles in agriculture may fall under the H-2A visa temporary agricultural worker program, depending on the nature of the work.
Which cities in New York have the most field manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City generates the highest volume of field manager sponsorship activity, driven by large-scale infrastructure, construction, and utility projects across all five boroughs. Buffalo and Albany see sponsorship activity tied to utility and public works projects. Upstate agricultural regions, particularly the Finger Lakes and Catskills, account for a meaningful share of field supervisor and field manager roles sponsored through seasonal and permanent programs.
How to find field manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify New York field manager roles where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on construction, utility, telecom, or agricultural field manager positions across the state. Checking listings regularly is worthwhile, as sponsorship-eligible roles are posted on an ongoing basis.
Are there state-specific considerations for field managers seeking visa sponsorship in New York?
New York requires H-1B employers to pay prevailing wages as determined by the Department of Labor, and New York City's high prevailing wage benchmarks can affect which employers are willing to sponsor. Field managers on construction projects in New York City may also need to meet local licensing or certification requirements, which employers typically factor into the sponsorship decision. Union affiliation in certain construction sectors can also influence sponsorship availability.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored field manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
