Which companies sponsor visas for finance analysts in New York?
The most active sponsors for finance analyst roles in New York include large financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock. Global consulting firms like Deloitte and PwC also sponsor regularly for analyst-level finance positions. DOL LCA disclosure data consistently shows these employers filing for finance-related specialty occupation roles in the New York metro area.
Which visa types are most common for finance analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance analysts in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Australian nationals may pursue the E-3 visa as an alternative outside the H-1B lottery. Candidates already holding L-1 intracompany transferee status through a multinational employer are another common pathway into New York finance analyst roles.
Which cities in New York have the most finance analyst sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of finance analyst sponsorship jobs in New York, particularly in Midtown and the Financial District, where most major banks, hedge funds, and asset managers are headquartered. Buffalo and Albany have smaller but active markets driven by regional banks and government-adjacent financial institutions. For roles in international finance and capital markets, Manhattan remains by far the primary hiring hub.
How to find finance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters finance analyst jobs in New York by employers with active sponsorship histories. Rather than sifting through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies that have filed LCAs for finance positions in New York, helping you focus your applications on employers already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Are there state-specific or role-specific factors finance analysts should know when targeting New York sponsorship jobs?
New York's Department of Labor sets prevailing wage requirements that employers must meet when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B finance analyst positions, and wages in the New York metro area are benchmarked against some of the highest prevailing wage levels in the country. Many employers in New York also source finance analyst talent through university pipelines at NYU Stern, Columbia Business School, and Cornell, which have established OPT-to-sponsorship pathways that international students can plan around.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
