Which companies sponsor visas for finance analysts in Ohio?
Several large Ohio-based employers have sponsored work visas for finance analyst roles in recent years, including Nationwide Insurance and JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, KeyCorp and PNC in Cleveland, and Fifth Third Bank and American Financial Group in Cincinnati. Large healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic and Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center also hire finance analysts and have sponsored visas through their finance and accounting departments.
Which visa types are most common for finance analyst roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for finance analysts in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is easier to obtain. Canadians and Mexicans may be eligible for TN visa status under the USMCA professional category for economists and accountants.
Which cities in Ohio have the most finance analyst sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's leading city for finance analyst sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of insurance companies, banks, and corporate headquarters. Cleveland follows closely, with a strong financial services sector centered on KeyCorp, PNC, and asset management firms. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, particularly in insurance and consumer finance. Smaller markets like Dayton and Toledo have fewer openings but still see periodic sponsorship from manufacturing and healthcare employers.
How to find finance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international candidates searching for visa-sponsored roles, including finance analyst positions in Ohio. You can filter by state and job category to see Ohio employers actively posting sponsored finance analyst openings. Beyond the job board, reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for Ohio can help you identify which specific employers have historically filed LCAs for finance analyst titles before you apply.
Are there any state-specific considerations for finance analysts seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's financial services industry is heavily concentrated in its three major metros, so candidates targeting sponsorship should focus applications there rather than spreading efforts statewide. Ohio public universities, including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, produce a steady pipeline of finance graduates who transition to sponsored employment, which means competition at entry-level analyst roles can be significant. Employers in Columbus and Cleveland also tend to recruit through campus programs, so connecting with university career offices can be a useful supplementary strategy.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance analyst jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
