Which companies sponsor visas for learning program managers in New York?
Large employers with established HR and immigration infrastructure are the most consistent sponsors. In New York, that includes financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs, tech companies like Google and Amazon with offices in the city, and consulting firms like Deloitte, McKinsey, and Accenture. These organizations have dedicated legal teams and sponsor H-1B and other work visas for learning and development roles regularly.
Which visa types are most common for learning program manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for learning program manager positions in New York. These roles typically qualify as specialty occupations because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in instructional design, education, organizational development, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1 or O-1 status may also find employers willing to support those categories, depending on their background and the employer's legal preferences.
How to find learning program manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by role and state to surface learning program manager positions in New York where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability. This saves significant time compared to sifting through general postings where sponsorship willingness is unclear. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers and industries are actively hiring international candidates for L&D roles in the New York market.
Which cities in New York have the most learning program manager sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the majority of learning program manager openings in New York state, driven by the concentration of corporate headquarters in finance, consulting, media, and technology. Brooklyn and Long Island City have grown as secondary hubs, particularly for tech and startup employers. Albany occasionally surfaces openings tied to state government agencies and healthcare systems, but the volume remains heavily weighted toward New York City.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for learning program manager visa sponsorship candidates?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules reflect the city's high cost of living, so employers sponsoring learning program manager roles must meet Department of Labor wage thresholds for the New York metropolitan area. Candidates with graduate degrees from universities in the SUNY or CUNY systems, or institutions like Columbia and NYU, may find that local employer networks and alumni connections provide a practical advantage when identifying sponsorship-willing hiring managers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored learning program manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
