Which companies sponsor visas for marketing specialists in New York?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for marketing specialists in New York. These include global advertising holding companies like Publicis Groupe, Interpublic Group, and WPP, as well as tech firms like Google, Amazon, and Meta with New York offices. Major financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup also hire marketing specialists and have sponsored work visas for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for marketing specialist roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for marketing specialists in New York, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is processed faster. Canadians and Mexicans may be eligible for the TN visa under the USMCA professional categories.
Which cities in New York have the most marketing specialist sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant location, particularly Midtown and Lower Manhattan where advertising agencies, media companies, and corporate headquarters are concentrated. Brooklyn has seen growth in marketing roles tied to the tech and startup sectors in areas like DUMBO and Williamsburg. Long Island City hosts a smaller but active cluster of employers, and some regional roles exist in Buffalo and Albany for candidates open to working outside New York City.
How to find marketing specialist visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters marketing specialist jobs in New York by employers with a documented history of visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through hundreds of listings manually, you can search directly for roles where sponsorship is a realistic option. Migrate Mate pulls from employer H-1B and LCA filing data, so the results reflect actual sponsorship activity for marketing roles in New York.
Are there state-specific considerations for marketing specialists seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York State has prevailing wage requirements tied to the Department of Labor's LCA process, which apply to H-1B and E-3 visa petitions. Employers must pay at least the prevailing wage for the specific marketing specialist occupation and geographic area, which in New York City tends to be higher than national averages due to local wage data. Candidates from universities like NYU, Columbia, and Fordham often enter the New York marketing job market through OPT, which gives employers a lower-risk path to sponsorship before committing to an H-1B petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored marketing specialist jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
