INTRODUCTION
The role is a systems‑focused ADAS ECU position, with an emphasis on change point analysis, requirements development, and validation rather than pure development. Honda operates in a lean structure, meaning the same engineer is responsible for activities across the V‑model, including both requirements/specification work and downstream verification and validation.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant will take systems originally developed in Japan and support their integration into North American vehicle models by analyzing what remains the same versus what must change. This includes coordinating closely with Japan counterparts and U.S. cross‑functional teams to understand change impacts, define updated requirements, and modify system, diagnostic, or CAN communication specifications as needed. The consultant will own gap analyses and requirements updates, documenting changes in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, and internal CAN/change‑point tools. They are not responsible for software implementation or ECU hardware design but will create the requirements and specifications that are delivered to suppliers. Once suppliers return software releases, the consultant will support validation activities, including bench and on‑vehicle testing. This includes developing test plans, executing select tests personally, sending requirements to technicians for vehicle testing, analyzing results, making preliminary judgments, and presenting findings for evaluator approval. The team uses Vector tools and VT system benches for automated testing. In addition, the role carries light project execution responsibility. The consultant is expected to understand software schedules, manage requirement submission timing, support milestone events (including system verification and MARU‑Q milestones), and contribute status and documentation for formal reviews. The work is focused on ADAS components such as BSW, diagnostics, communication, and ECU validation—not ADAS performance algorithms.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Honda would ideally like someone with 3–5 years of automotive systems engineering experience supporting ADAS, ECU, FICU, or related systems. Strong co‑op experience could offset less full‑time experience. This is not intended to be a senior (10+ year) role but can flex up or down for the right person at the right rate.
HIGH‑LEVEL RESPONSIBILITIES SNAPSHOT
- ADAS ECU systems engineering and change point analysis
- Requirements and specification creation/updates (CAN, diagnostics, failure detection)
- Coordination with Japan and U.S. cross‑functional stakeholders
- Supplier requirement handoff and software delivery tracking
- Bench and vehicle test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting
- Support milestone reviews and system verification events

Which companies sponsor visas for project management consultants in Ohio?
Large employers with established HR infrastructure and ongoing transformation initiatives tend to sponsor visas for project management consultants in Ohio. These include Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, Huntington Bancshares, Fifth Third Bank, and major healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth. Consulting firms with Ohio offices, such as Deloitte and Accenture, also file H-1B visa petitions for project management roles on a regular basis.
Which visa types are most common for project management consultant roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most common sponsorship path for project management consultants in Ohio, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the USMCA. Those with significant international experience or recognition may explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documented achievement.
Which cities in Ohio have the most project management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Columbus generates the highest volume of project management consultant sponsorship opportunities in Ohio, driven by its concentration of insurance companies, technology firms, and state government contractors. Cleveland follows closely, with demand anchored in healthcare systems and manufacturing consultancies. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, particularly for consultants supporting consumer goods, logistics, and financial services companies headquartered in the greater metro area.
How to find project management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters project management consultant roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship history, so you are not sifting through postings from employers who have never sponsored. Searching by Ohio on Migrate Mate surfaces relevant roles across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Prioritizing employers who have filed H-1B petitions before significantly improves your odds of a productive application process.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for project management consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions vary by metropolitan statistical area, so a role in Columbus carries a different wage floor than the same title in a smaller Ohio city. Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, and the University of Cincinnati produce graduates who enter project management pipelines, meaning some employers are already familiar with OPT and STEM extension timelines. Healthcare and manufacturing consultancies often have in-house immigration counsel, which can streamline the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management consultant jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
