Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for project management consultants?
Wisconsin employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for project management roles include Northwestern Mutual, Advocate Aurora Health, Johnson Controls, Fiserv, Kohler Co., and Rockwell Automation. Large healthcare systems and financial services firms in Milwaukee and Madison tend to be the most active sponsors, often bringing in consultants for technology transformation, EHR implementation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Which visa types are most common for project management consultant roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management consultants in Wisconsin, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field. L-1B visas are also used when a consulting firm transfers a specialist from an overseas office. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in management consulting roles under USMCA.
How to find project management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lets you filter project management consultant roles specifically by visa sponsorship status and state, making it straightforward to identify Wisconsin employers who have sponsored before. Given that sponsorship for this role is concentrated among larger enterprises and consulting firms in Milwaukee and Madison, filtering by those metros on Migrate Mate will surface the most relevant active listings.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most project management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial services firms, and major health systems. Madison follows closely, with state government IT modernization projects, university-affiliated consulting work, and a growing technology sector. The Fox Valley corridor, including Appleton and Green Bay, sees sponsorship activity tied to manufacturing and supply chain consulting for companies like Kohler and Paper industry employers.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management consultants seeking visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific metro area where work is performed, which differs between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller markets. University of Wisconsin system institutions occasionally sponsor consultants for large-scale IT and infrastructure projects. Wisconsin's manufacturing and healthcare sectors drive consistent demand, but sponsoring employers are predominantly large organizations rather than small consulting boutiques.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management consultant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
