Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for tax analysts?
Energy and financial services firms account for a large share of tax analyst sponsorships in Oklahoma. Companies like Williams Companies, ONEOK, Devon Energy, and BOK Financial have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for professional roles. Large accounting firms with Oklahoma offices, including the Big Four, also sponsor tax analysts for specialty occupation work.
Which visa types are most common for tax analyst roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for tax analysts in Oklahoma, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most tax analyst sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the majority of tax analyst sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City hosts corporate headquarters for energy and healthcare firms, while Tulsa is the base for several major pipeline and midstream companies. Smaller markets like Norman and Edmond occasionally post roles tied to regional employers and university-adjacent businesses.
How to find tax analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find tax analyst roles in Oklahoma without sifting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. You can search by role and state to surface active openings at energy companies, financial institutions, and accounting firms across Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for tax analysts?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily tied to oil and gas, so tax analysts with experience in energy taxation, depletion deductions, or midstream accounting are particularly in demand. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University produce local accounting graduates, but employers in specialized energy tax roles frequently recruit internationally. H-1B petitions for tax analysts must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for the specific Oklahoma county where work is performed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax analyst jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
