Which companies sponsor visas for purchasing managers in Oregon?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for purchasing and supply chain roles include Intel, Nike, and Daimler Trucks North America, all of which have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for procurement and sourcing positions. Healthcare systems such as Providence Health and OHSU also sponsor purchasing managers. Smaller contract manufacturers and technology firms in the Willamette Valley round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for purchasing manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for purchasing managers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field. Candidates already holding TN status (Canadian or Mexican nationals) can also qualify, since purchasing manager is listed under the USMCA professional categories. The O-1 is rarely used for this role.
Which cities in Oregon have the most purchasing manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the majority of purchasing manager sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's large semiconductor campus in Hillsboro drives significant procurement hiring. Eugene has a smaller but active market through manufacturing and university-adjacent organizations, while Bend sees occasional openings tied to outdoor goods and construction supply chains.
How to find purchasing manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search purchasing manager roles in Oregon without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers who have a documented history of H-1B and other work visa filings for procurement roles, which is particularly useful for targeting Oregon's semiconductor, healthcare, and consumer goods sectors.
Are there state-specific considerations for purchasing manager visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not impose state-level licensing requirements on purchasing managers, but employers must comply with federal prevailing wage standards when filing an H-1B petition. Oregon's cost of living and strong manufacturing base, particularly in semiconductors and athletic goods, tend to push prevailing wages for senior procurement roles above national averages, which can affect how employers structure sponsorship offers. Proximity to major Pacific ports also shapes supply chain staffing priorities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored purchasing manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
