Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for tax analysts?
Nike's global headquarters in Beaverton, Intel's large Oregon campus, and Precision Castparts in Portland are among the most active sponsors for tax analyst roles. Regional accounting firms and the Oregon offices of Big Four firms like Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY also have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for tax and finance professionals in the state.
Which visa types are most common for tax analyst roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for tax analyst positions in Oregon, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may also pursue the E-3 visa. Those with outstanding achievements in tax or finance may qualify for the O-1A.
Which cities in Oregon have the most tax analyst sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the large majority of tax analyst sponsorship activity in Oregon. Nike and Intel alone generate significant demand in Washington County. Eugene and Salem have smaller but present corporate and government employer bases, though sponsorship opportunities there are considerably less frequent.
How to find tax analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Oregon employers actively hiring tax analysts who need work authorization. Searching on Migrate Mate lets you narrow by role and state, so you're not sorting through listings from companies that won't sponsor. Focus your search on Portland-area corporate employers and accounting firm offices for the highest concentration of open roles.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for tax analysts seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon has no state income tax on wages for some specific circumstances, but corporate tax complexity, including the state's commercial activity tax introduced in 2020, has increased employer demand for experienced tax analysts. University of Oregon and Portland State University graduate pipelines also supply talent to local firms, so international candidates should be prepared to demonstrate specialized expertise in areas like transfer pricing, multistate tax, or international tax compliance to stand out.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax analyst jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
