Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for tax analysts?
Milwaukee-based employers are the most active sponsors for tax analyst roles in Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, Harley-Davidson, and Kohl's have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for finance and tax positions. In Madison, American Family Insurance and Epic Systems occasionally sponsor for tax and accounting roles. Large public accounting firms with Wisconsin offices, including Deloitte and PwC, also sponsor international tax analysts.
What visa types are most common for tax analyst roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for tax analysts in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or taxation. Candidates with a master's degree may benefit from the H-1B advanced degree exemption. Tax analysts from Canada or Mexico may also be eligible for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category for accountants.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most tax analyst sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for tax analyst sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and manufacturing headquarters. Madison follows as a secondary market, supported by state government employers, the University of Wisconsin system, and a growing tech sector. Green Bay and Waukesha County see occasional openings tied to regional manufacturing and healthcare employers with in-house tax functions.
How to find tax analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find tax analyst roles in Wisconsin where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically for Wisconsin and tax analyst positions to see relevant openings without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. Because sponsorship willingness isn't always listed in standard job postings, using a platform built for this purpose saves significant time in your search.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for tax analysts seeking sponsorship?
Wisconsin employers sponsoring H-1B tax analysts must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location, which differs by metropolitan area. Milwaukee generally has higher prevailing wages than Green Bay or smaller markets, which affects where sponsorship is cost-effective for employers. The University of Wisconsin system and affiliated research institutions are cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file year-round without waiting for the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax analyst jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
