Which companies sponsor visas for tax analysts in New York?
Large financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs regularly sponsor tax analysts, as do the Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG), which maintain major New York offices. Multinational corporations headquartered in or near Manhattan with significant tax departments also appear consistently in Department of Labor sponsorship disclosure data for this role.
Which visa types are most common for tax analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for tax analysts in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may pursue TN visa status under the accountant category. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery requirement.
Which cities in New York have the most tax analyst sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the majority of tax analyst sponsorship positions in New York, driven by the concentration of financial services firms, Big Four offices, and Fortune 500 headquarters. Buffalo, Albany, and White Plains also have sponsoring employers, particularly regional banks, healthcare systems, and state-regulated utilities, though volume is significantly lower than New York City.
How to find tax analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify tax analyst openings in New York without manually researching each employer's sponsorship history. You can search by role and state to surface positions at financial firms, accounting practices, and corporations actively hiring international candidates in the New York metro area.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for tax analyst sponsorship candidates?
New York City's concentration of financial and professional services firms creates strong demand for transfer pricing specialists and state and local tax (SALT) analysts, which are areas where international candidates with specialized credentials are actively recruited. New York also has a dense university pipeline, with schools such as NYU and Columbia supplying OPT-eligible candidates that many employers are already familiar with sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
