Which companies sponsor visas for clinical registered nurses in Pennsylvania?
UPMC, Jefferson Health, Penn Medicine, Temple Health, and Tower Health are among the most active sponsors of clinical registered nurses in Pennsylvania. These large academic and regional health systems regularly file H-1B and EB-3 petitions for qualified international nurses. Smaller community hospitals and long-term care networks also sponsor, though their capacity and consistency vary by facility and staffing needs.
Which visa types are most common for clinical registered nurse roles in Pennsylvania?
The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is the most common pathway for international clinical registered nurses in Pennsylvania, typically initiated through PERM labor certification. The H-1B is available for RN roles that meet specialty occupation requirements, though this classification requires careful documentation. Some nurses also enter through the TN visa if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, as registered nursing is an eligible TN occupation.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most clinical registered nurse sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh account for the largest share of clinical registered nurse visa sponsorship positions in Pennsylvania, driven by their concentration of major health systems and teaching hospitals. Allentown, Harrisburg, and Reading also offer meaningful hiring volume through regional medical centers. Philadelphia's density of academic medical institutions, including Penn Medicine and Jefferson Health, makes it particularly active for international nurse recruitment.
How to find clinical registered nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated platform for international job seekers and filters clinical registered nurse positions in Pennsylvania by visa sponsorship eligibility. Because sponsorship status is not always clearly listed in general job postings, using Migrate Mate helps you identify Pennsylvania health systems that are actively recruiting internationally licensed nurses rather than sorting through positions that don't offer immigration support.
Are there state-specific considerations for international clinical registered nurses seeking sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
International nurses must obtain a Pennsylvania RN license from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing before starting work, which requires passing the NCLEX-RN and having foreign credentials evaluated by an approved credentialing body such as CGFNS. Pennsylvania's nursing shortage in rural and underserved areas has increased employer willingness to sponsor, and some facilities in health professional shortage areas participate in federal programs that support internationally educated nurse placement.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical registered nurse jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
