Tips for Finding H-1B1 Chile Sponsorship Jobs in Pennsylvania
Verify your degree equivalency before applying
Chilean university degrees are evaluated for U.S. equivalency during the Labor Condition Application process. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized agency before you start applying so employers in Pennsylvania can confirm specialty occupation eligibility without delays.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
Search DOL's public LCA disclosure data to find Pennsylvania employers who have already filed for H-1B1 Chile status. Philadelphia-area life sciences firms and Pittsburgh technology companies appear regularly, signaling familiarity with the visa category. Use Migrate Mate to filter this data by role and location.
Distinguish H-1B1 Chile from H-1B in employer conversations
Many Pennsylvania HR teams default to H-1B processes when a candidate mentions work authorization. Clarify that H-1B1 Chile requires no lottery, uses a 1,400-slot annual allocation exclusive to Chilean nationals, and follows consular processing rather than a change-of-status petition.
Confirm specialty occupation alignment using O*NET
Your job title alone doesn't guarantee H-1B1 Chile eligibility. Look up your occupation code in O*NET to confirm it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, then match that language to your offer letter before the employer files the LCA with DOL.
Request the LCA before your consulate appointment
USCIS does not adjudicate H-1B1 Chile petitions the way it does H-1B cases. Your employer's certified LCA from DOL is the core sponsorship document you bring to the U.S. consulate. Confirm your employer has obtained DOL certification well before you schedule your appointment in Santiago or Valparaiso.
Check prevailing wage requirements for your Pennsylvania metro
Prevailing wage levels vary significantly between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Allentown for the same occupation. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific SOC code and metro area before negotiating your offer to avoid LCA rejection.

Get Access To All JobsH-1B1 Chile Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
Which industries in Pennsylvania sponsor the most H-1B1 Chile visas?
Healthcare systems, higher education institutions, and engineering and technology firms account for the largest share of H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia's hospital networks and life sciences corridor, Pittsburgh's robotics and software sector, and the Lehigh Valley's advanced manufacturing base generate consistent specialty occupation demand that aligns with the visa's requirements.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and its suburbs host the highest concentration of H-1B1 Chile-eligible employers, driven by major health systems, universities, and professional services firms. Pittsburgh follows with strong technology and engineering employer density. Harrisburg and Allentown have smaller but active markets, particularly in government contracting, healthcare administration, and manufacturing engineering roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B1 Chile rules. In Pennsylvania, this commonly includes software engineers, biomedical and mechanical engineers, financial analysts, registered nurses in advanced practice roles, academic researchers, and management consultants. The degree must specifically relate to the duties of the offered position, not just a general field.
How do I find H-1B1 Chile jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate lets you search Pennsylvania employers with verified H-1B1 Chile LCA filing histories, filtering by industry, city, and occupation. This narrows your outreach to employers already familiar with the visa category instead of educating hiring teams from scratch. Cross-referencing with DOL's public LCA disclosure data confirms which Philadelphia and Pittsburgh employers sponsor the most consistently.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
