Which healthcare companies sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania's largest health systems are among the most active H-1B1 visa Chile sponsors in the state. UPMC, Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, Geisinger, and Temple Health have all filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation healthcare roles. Academic medical centers affiliated with universities such as the University of Pittsburgh and Drexel University also sponsor Chilean nationals for clinical and research positions.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most healthcare H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh account for the majority of healthcare H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania, driven by their dense concentrations of academic medical centers, research hospitals, and health system headquarters. Harrisburg, Allentown, and Hershey also have sponsoring employers, particularly through PinnacleHealth and Penn State Health, making central and eastern Pennsylvania worth exploring beyond the two major metros.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must meet the H-1B1 specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In healthcare, this commonly includes physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical researchers, health informaticists, and clinical data analysts. Roles requiring only an associate degree or general certification, such as many nursing assistant or medical technician positions, typically do not qualify without additional academic credentials.
How do I find healthcare H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, you can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface Pennsylvania healthcare employers with verified H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application filing history. This is more targeted than a general job search because it surfaces only employers who have actively sponsored the H-1B1 Chile category, saving time you'd otherwise spend asking recruiters about sponsorship eligibility upfront.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific or healthcare-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Pennsylvania requires certain licensed healthcare professionals, including physicians and physical therapists, to hold a valid Pennsylvania state license before they can begin practicing, regardless of visa status. Employers typically initiate the H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application through DOL before the employee starts work, so coordinating licensing timelines with your sponsor is important. Academic medical centers in the state also frequently use J-1 visas for clinical training, which is a different pathway from H-1B1 Chile sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile healthcare jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
