Which companies sponsor visas for project managers in Tennessee?
Large healthcare organizations including HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville have sponsored project managers, as have manufacturing companies like Volkswagen and Amazon's logistics operations in Memphis. Technology firms and engineering contractors operating across Nashville and Knoxville also appear in federal LCA disclosure data as sponsors for project management roles. Sponsorship activity varies by employer and role.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project managers in Tennessee, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as engineering, computer science, or business. The L-1A is used when a multinational employer transfers a manager from an overseas office. TN visa status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles under USMCA.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the largest share of project manager sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its healthcare, technology, and construction sectors. Memphis is a secondary hub due to logistics, distribution, and healthcare employers. Chattanooga has a smaller but active manufacturing base, particularly in automotive and advanced manufacturing, where project management roles appear in LCA filings.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can search project manager roles in Tennessee without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. The platform focuses on international job seekers, making it easier to identify companies with active sponsorship history in Tennessee's healthcare, manufacturing, and technology sectors rather than applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process.
Are there any state-specific considerations for project managers seeking visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage comparisons but does not change federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor. The state's concentration of healthcare and advanced manufacturing employers means project managers with credentials in those industries tend to find more sponsoring employers. Knoxville's proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory also creates demand for project managers in research and engineering contexts.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
