Search Project Manager Jobs in MassachusettsProject Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for project managers in Massachusetts?
Large employers with consistent project manager sponsorship histories in Massachusetts include Biogen, Raytheon Technologies, Mass General Brigham, Liberty Mutual, and Wayfair. The state's concentration of biotech and defense firms means many project manager roles involve regulated, complex programs where structured project management expertise is particularly valued by employers with active H-1B visa filing records.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project manager roles in Massachusetts, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical or business discipline. Candidates with qualifying backgrounds may also explore the O-1A for those with demonstrated exceptional achievement, or the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain management-adjacent categories, subject to eligibility requirements.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of sponsored project manager roles, driven by the density of biotech, healthcare, and technology employers. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor are also significant, hosting major defense, IT, and pharmaceutical companies. Worcester has a growing presence through healthcare systems and manufacturing firms that periodically sponsor project management positions.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse project manager openings in Massachusetts without sifting through roles that don't sponsor. You can search by role and state to see current positions from employers with active sponsorship programs across industries including biotech, defense, healthcare IT, and higher education administration throughout the state.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for project managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which tend to run higher in the Boston metro area compared to national averages given the region's cost of living. The state's strong university pipeline, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, means many sponsored project manager candidates enter through OPT before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship with their employer.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
