Which companies sponsor visas for business intelligence engineers in Texas?
Several large Texas-based employers have consistent track records of sponsoring H-1B visas for business intelligence engineers. These include Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors in Austin, AT&T and American Airlines in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston. Texas Instruments and USAA also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for BI-related roles.
Which visa types are most common for business intelligence engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business intelligence engineers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT frequently use that status while their employer files an H-1B petition. The L-1B is also used by multinational firms transferring BI engineers from overseas offices.
Which cities in Texas have the most business intelligence engineer sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for BI engineer sponsorship activity, driven by its dense concentration of tech companies and startups. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with demand coming from finance, telecom, and logistics employers. Houston is the primary hub for energy-sector BI roles, particularly at oil and gas majors. San Antonio has a smaller but growing market, anchored by financial services firms like USAA and a cluster of cybersecurity companies.
How to find business intelligence engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter business intelligence engineer jobs by state, so you can browse Texas openings from employers with active sponsorship programs. Because BI engineer roles span energy, tech, and finance in Texas, filtering by industry alongside visa sponsorship status helps narrow results to the most relevant opportunities. Checking Migrate Mate regularly is practical given how quickly sponsored roles in competitive Texas markets fill.
Are there any state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for business intelligence engineers in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers calculate prevailing wage compliance under Department of Labor requirements. BI engineers in Texas benefit from strong university pipelines through UT Austin, Texas A&M, and UT Dallas, which means employers in the state are accustomed to hiring international graduates and sponsoring their work authorization. The energy sector concentration in Houston also creates demand for BI engineers with domain knowledge in oil and gas data systems, a relatively specialized niche within the broader role category.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business intelligence engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
