Which companies sponsor visas for finance administrators in Texas?
Large energy companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Phillips 66, headquartered in the Houston area, are among the more active sponsors for finance and accounting roles. Major banks and financial services firms operating in Dallas, including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, also have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for finance administrator positions. Corporate headquarters of Fortune 500 companies concentrated across the state further expand the pool of potential sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for finance administrator roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for finance administrators in Texas, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA-successor USMCA, which lists accountants as an eligible profession. Those with employer-to-employer transfers may qualify for the L-1B or L-1A depending on their seniority.
Which cities in Texas have the most finance administrator sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state for finance administrator sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and healthcare companies. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, anchored by corporate headquarters across banking, insurance, and technology sectors. Austin has grown significantly as a finance hub alongside its tech industry expansion, with companies like Dell, Apple, and Tesla establishing substantial back-office finance operations there.
How to find finance administrator visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface visa sponsorship jobs for international candidates, including finance administrator roles filtered to Texas. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed, Migrate Mate lets you search by role and state so you can focus on employers who have indicated they sponsor work visas. Filtering by Texas also helps you identify which cities and industries are actively hiring in this category.
Are there any Texas-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for finance administrators?
Texas universities, including UT Austin, Texas A&M, and the University of Houston, produce large cohorts of international finance graduates on OPT, which means employers in the state are generally familiar with work authorization processes. The state's strong energy sector creates demand for finance administrators with industry-specific knowledge in areas like joint venture accounting and revenue recognition, which can strengthen a candidate's position when employers are evaluating sponsorship decisions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance administrator jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
