This role serves as the execution owner for ERP and enterprise software projects, including implementations, upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and change requests - ensuring work is prioritized, coordinated, delivered on time, and adopted successfully by the business.
The role manages a mixed portfolio ranging from major implementations and projects to smaller application changes and enhancements across systems such as Infor LN, McLeod, SourceDay, Workday, analytics/reporting platforms, and other business applications. It sits within the System of Management (Project Management Office) pillar of the IT Applications organization and partners closely with ERP Analysts, Data & Analytics, Integration, application support resources, vendors, and business stakeholders to convert priorities into reliable outcomes.
Scope note: This is an enterprise business applications and software delivery role rather than an IT infrastructure or technical operations project management role.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of ERP and enterprise business application initiatives, including new software implementations, module or application rollouts, upgrades, integrations, analytics/reporting solutions, and third-party application deployments.
- Plan and drive both major projects and smaller application changes and enhancements, translating business priorities into clear scopes, plans, timelines, dependencies, milestones, and accountable owners.
- Manage scope, resource needs, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and change requests to ensure predictable delivery and minimize disruption to operations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate work across IT Business Applications teams (ERP, Data & Analytics, Integration, application support, and consultants) and business functions (Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Human Resources, etc.).
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for execution - ensuring decisions are documented, owners and due dates are clear, dependencies are actively managed, and activities are driven to closure.
- Partner with software vendors, consultants, and system integrators to manage deliverables, timelines, quality, and issue resolution.
Governance, Communication & Reporting
- Maintain structured project and portfolio governance, including schedules, status reporting, action and decision tracking, risk and issue management, dependency management, and escalation.
- Provide clear, concise updates to IT leadership and business stakeholders focused on progress, risks, decisions needed, and next steps.
- Ensure initiatives meet defined success criteria and are transitioned cleanly into application support and steady-state operations.
Testing, Deployment & Adoption
- Coordinate requirements readiness, testing/UAT, release readiness, training readiness, and go-live activities for application implementations, upgrades, releases, and enhancements.
- Ensure project documentation, operating procedures, job aids, and training materials are prepared in partnership with IT and business subject matter experts.
- Support post-go-live stabilization (hypercare), track open issues to resolution, and confirm intended business outcomes are realized.
Application Portfolio, Intake & Enhancement Management
- Manage intake and maintain a centralized portfolio or backlog for new application projects, changes, enhancements, and other business application requests in partnership with IT leadership.
- Facilitate request triage, prioritization, sequencing, and assignment with IT and business owners, balancing capacity, urgency, dependencies, risk, and business impact.
- Maintain visibility through an application roadmap, release calendar, and consolidated status reporting; apply right-sized governance, templates, and delivery standards based on the size and complexity of each initiative.
- All other duties assigned by TAS.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred certification or formal training in project management, Agile/Scrum & Waterfall delivery, organizational change management, or ERP/business application implementation (for example, PMP or CAPM).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience managing ERP, enterprise software, or business applications projects, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, construction, supply chain, or operations-oriented environment.
- Proven experience delivering at least one ERP or comparable enterprise business application implementation, upgrade, rollout, or significant enhancement through the full project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, with experience tailoring and applying hybrid delivery approaches based on project size, complexity, risk, and business needs.
- Experience managing a mixed portfolio of larger projects and smaller application changes or enhancements across multiple competing priorities.
- Experience coordinating business requirements, vendors, configuration activities, testing/UAT, deployment, training and change adoption, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including the ability to translate technical work into business-relevant plans, decisions, and status updates.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting Infor LN or another enterprise ERP platform such as SAP, Oracle, IFS etc.
- Experience delivering projects involving enterprise applications that support manufacturing, supply chain, transportation/logistics, procurement or supplier collaboration, human capital management, finance, or analytics (for example, McLeod, SourceDay, Workday, Power BI, or comparable platforms).
- Experience managing application enhancement backlogs, release plans, intake governance, or a portfolio of concurrent application initiatives.
- Experience working with third-party software vendors, consultants, and system integrators, with practical familiarity with application integrations, APIs, data flows, and interface dependencies.
