Tips for Finding H-1B1 Chile Sponsorship Jobs in Washington DC
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
H-1B1 Chile requires a degree in a field directly related to the job, not just any bachelor's degree. Cross-check your credential against the role's SOC code using O*NET before applying to confirm the field-to-job match holds up.
Target DC employers with active LCA filing history
Law firms along K Street, federal contractors in the DC metro, and international financial institutions near Dupont Circle file LCAs regularly. Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter by employer and occupation before spending time on applications.
Use Migrate Mate to find H-1B1 Chile verified employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify DC-area employers with documented H-1B1 Chile filing history. It surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by occupation and location so you can focus on employers who have already navigated this visa category.
Clarify H-1B1 Chile status with DC employers early
Many DC employers conflate H-1B1 Chile with the standard H-1B visa. Clarify upfront that H-1B1 Chile has no lottery, no cap wait, and a separate annual allocation of 1,400 visas, so their HR or legal team can confirm they can file for it.
Get your Chilean credentials evaluated before interviewing
DC employers in consulting, law, and finance frequently request a formal credential evaluation for non-U.S. degrees. Having a NACES-member evaluation completed before the offer stage removes a common delay in the USCIS filing process.
Confirm the employer's LCA is filed before your start date
The LCA must be DOL-certified before USCIS can approve your H-1B1 Chile petition. Ask the employer's immigration counsel to confirm the LCA certification date and ensure it precedes your intended employment start date.

Which industries in Washington DC sponsor the most H-1B1 Chile visas?
Professional services, legal, and technology consulting firms account for the heaviest H-1B1 Chile filing activity in Washington DC. Federal government contractors, international financial institutions, and policy-focused nonprofits also sponsor regularly. The concentration of multinational organizations and law firms along the K Street corridor makes DC one of the more active markets for this visa category.
Which cities in Washington DC have the most H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Most H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in the DC area is concentrated in the District itself, particularly in neighborhoods like Downtown, Dupont Circle, and Capitol Hill where law firms, consulting firms, and international organizations cluster. Nearby metro employers in Arlington and Bethesda also file under DC-area LCAs, so the broader DC metropolitan area is the practical search zone.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Washington DC?
Roles that qualify must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Washington DC, this typically includes attorneys, financial analysts, management consultants, software engineers, economists, and policy researchers. Generalist roles or positions where any bachelor's degree suffices regardless of field do not qualify, so confirming the SOC code alignment with O*NET before applying is practical.
How do I find H-1B1 Chile jobs in Washington DC?
Use Migrate Mate to search for DC-area employers with verified H-1B1 Chile filing history. The platform surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by occupation and location, letting you target companies that have already sponsored this visa category rather than starting blind. Pair that with the OFLC Wage Search to confirm prevailing wage levels for your target role in the DC metro area.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
